Getting To India

I had the world's worst flights this time around- just to get over here I had a flight to Chicago, then a huge layover, then a 15 HOUR flight to Dehli, then an OVERNIGHT layover, then a flight to Mumbai, and then I was picked up by Andy and a driver for the 4 hour drive to Pune.

I was lucky and only sat by 1 guy on the long flight. This 50-something British aeronautics engineer, who drank his face off on the flight, and told me many interesting tidbits both about the plane, (in the event of an emergency I was in very good hands, he assured me) and his very young Thai wife, who won't let him sleep naked. There was way more to that story, but its pretty self-explanatory. Each new beer seemed to bring on a spate of new stories, and I finally just faked sleep til he passed out for a little while.

I had been chatting with a girl on the plane while we were in line for the bathroom, and she and a couple of other people were all in Dehli overnight as well, so we all camped out together, pulled a big row of benches over so we could strech out our legs, and took turns napping. Once it was morning we wlaked around the airport and got a few snacks and such, and then all left within about half an hour of each other, I guess all the flights start about the same time each morning. Luckily she grew up around here, and gave me several good suggestions for shopping and such.

I had been awake about 40 hours by the time we got to the apartment, and was pissed when Andy made me stay up to go out for dinner for with some friends. But we got to this great outdoor restaurant/lounge, and everybody was cool, so I had a nice time until my face just about fell right into my dinner. Then it was time to go home.

Shisha Cafe- Restaurant with a Turkish theme, but not Turkish food. Lots of hookahs and carpets, as you can drpaed around the ceiling.
